A 30-year-old man has been arrested by police in Lezha, suspected of committing a series of thefts under threat of death.
According to police, the 30-year-old is suspected of committing 11 thefts between 2025 and January of this year, including 7 at gunpoint.
It concerns two gas stations, a store and 4 taxi drivers, where it is suspected that he used a toy gun, as well as committing 4 other thefts, in markets and apartments.
The 30-year-old is also suspected of partially burning a vehicle in Tirana and verbally threatening his ex-mother-in-law.
"The second phase of the police operation codenamed "Coordination" is being finalized."
The suspected perpetrator of a series of robberies at gunpoint is located, apprehended and arrested.
During 2025 and January of this year, the 30-year-old is suspected of having committed 11 thefts, 7 of them at gunpoint.
The 30-year-old is also suspected of partially burning a vehicle in Tirana and verbally threatening his ex-mother-in-law.
Following the police operation codenamed "Coordination", in-depth investigations to uncover a series of thefts that occurred throughout 2025 and January 2026, based on information obtained operationally, the services of the Kurbin Police Commissariat, the Lezha Police Commissariat, the Mirditë Police Commissariat and the Operational Support Section of the Lezha DVP have organized and finalized the second phase of the "Coordination" operation.
As a result of the second phase of the operation, in cooperation with the Tirana Police Department, it was possible to capture in Tirana citizen EN, alias E. Ll., 30 years old, resident of Mamurras, suspected of the criminal offenses of "Armed Theft", "Destruction of Property by Fire" and "Intimidation", as the author of 11 thefts (two gas stations, a store and 4 taxi drivers at gunpoint, where it is suspected that he used a toy pistol, as well as having committed 4 other thefts, in markets and apartments).
At the time of the arrest, the 30-year-old was in the company of citizen GD, 42 years old, born in Mamurras and residing in Tirana, where during the search of this citizen's apartment, shotguns, cartridges of various calibers and a mobile phone were found and seized as material evidence.
The 42-year-old was prosecuted for the criminal offenses of "Unlicensed Possession of Hunting Weapons" and "Unlicensed Possession of Weapons and Ammunition".
Intensive work continues to capture citizen AL, suspected of being an accomplice of the 30-year-old.
The identification of the perpetrators was carried out during the first phase of this operation, conducted in cooperation with the Kukes Local Police Directorate.
Meanwhile, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office, in-depth investigations continue to uncover other cases of theft that occurred previously, which are suspected to have been committed by this citizen.
"The materials were passed on to the Lezha General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police announced.
