
A 30-year-old man has been arrested by Maliq Police after he was caught driving around armed with a firearm in a vehicle. According to authorities, the citizen with the initials BB was stopped in the village of Sovjan, on a road between agricultural plots.
During the search of the vehicle, the police found and seized an automatic firearm. The police also searched the apartment of the arrested person, where a single shotgun and a small amount of combat ammunition were found. The
30-year-old is accused of the following criminal offenses: “Unlicensed possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition” and “Unlicensed production and possession of hunting and sporting weapons”.
"The police operation codenamed "Sovjani" is finalized. The 30-year-old was driving a vehicle armed with an automatic firearm and possessed an unlicensed shotgun in his apartment. He was captured and put in handcuffs.
An automatic firearm, a single-shot shotgun, ammunition and a vehicle were seized.
Continuing the work of providing information and cracking down on cases of illegal possession of weapons, the services of the Maliq Police Commissariat, based on the information obtained that a citizen was circulating armed, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Sovjani".
As a result of the operation, in the village of Sovjan, Maliq, the Police services found a vehicle on a road between agricultural plots, in which it was suspected that an armed citizen was traveling, and stopped it for inspection. During the inspection of the vehicle, the Police services found 1 automatic firearm.
Also, during the search of his apartment, a single shotgun and a small amount of combat ammunition were found. The illegal items, along with the vehicle, were seized as material evidence.
At the end of the procedural actions, citizen BB, 30 years old, resident of the village of Sovjan, Maliq, was arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offenses "Unlicensed possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Unlicensed production and possession of hunting and sporting weapons".
"The procedural materials were referred to the Korça Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police announced.
