Other details have been made public regarding the serious incident in Roskovec, Fier, where 80-year-old Shefit Rrapaj killed his wife, 75-year-old Dashuri Rrapaj, with a shotgun, and then ended his life.
According to police sources, the couple's son stated that at the time the crime occurred he was in Fier for a medical consultation, a fact that was also verified through security cameras.
In his testimony, he claimed that his father had a conflictive nature. One of the last clashes in the family had occurred about 10 days before the incident, over a trivial issue related to fertilizing potatoes in the yard of the apartment. According to him, this situation had ended up at the Roskovec police station, while his mother usually supported her son in these conflicts.
After returning from Fier, the boy found his parents dead in their apartment. He initially notified a relative and then called the police.
Police sources indicate that the weapon used in the crime was of an old type and is suspected to have been kept hidden underground, as it was found covered in soil.
Preliminary examination shows that the gun was fired twice: one bullet killed the wife, while the other caused the death of the perpetrator, who is suspected of committing suicide.
