For two German license plates obtained at a service in Germany and then in 2020 they entered Albania through the Morin point in Kosovo, the Tirana court sentenced Nikoll Shernik to a maximum sentence of 5 years.
The decision was made by judge Enkeleda Dalipi, who at noon today declared Nikol Shernik guilty and sentenced him to the charge of "Providing the conditions to commit murder".
During the delivery of the decision, Judge Dalipi ignored the request of the prosecutor Ardian Dyrmishi, who during the reading of the claim asked for Shernik's sentence of 3 years in prison.
But because the arrested person had entered this process with a shortened trial, eventually the prosecutor's office asked for Shernik's sentence of 2 years in prison.
On the other hand, Nikol Shernik's legal representatives asked the court to declare the arrested person innocent, since according to him, during the period when the license plates were taken in Germany, Shernik was in prison.
At the same time as the serious crime was committed in Tirana, where Mimoza Paja was killed, Nikoll Sherniku was in prison for another incident that happened in Lezhë.
But this measure of punishment with two years of imprisonment requested by the representative of the prosecution and the innocence requested by the defenders, was not taken into consideration by the judge Enkeleda Dalipi, who decided to punish Shernik with a maximum of 5 years of imprisonment.
Sherniku is known in Lezhë as a friend of Ervis and Brilant Martinaj, one disappeared without a trace and the other killed at the Fushë-Kruja crossing.
But his arrest took place in June 2023, since according to the Tirana prosecutor's office, he had brought two German license plates in 2020, which in March 2023, were used in a BMW type vehicle, from which he was shot with a gun on Don street Bosko and as a result Mimoza Paja was killed and Shehat Murati, Astrit Memaj, Genci Shaholli, Ermir Dajçuk, Emanuel Çala and 10-year-old RP were injured.
The authors of this serious event that shocked Tirana have not been identified and arrested to this day.
While Justice has only arrested Nikoll Shernik, who had brought the license plates from Germany to Albania, 3 years before the serious crime took place.
It is expected that in the future this decision will be appealed by Nikoll Sherniku, who says that he was in prison when the murder took place in the "Don Bosco" area./ Ora News
