The Italian police allegedly arrested one of the Verracaku brothers, wanted for the Velipoja massacre.
In June 2021, 4 people were executed in Velipoja, after a conflict over setting up tents on the coast. Among the victims were the two Gocaj brothers, the father of Arjan Verracak, killed in 2018, and a 20-year-old. While the brother of Kujtim Verracak and a teenager who, according to the police, are suspected of being the perpetrators of the armed conflict, were injured.
The police arrested 54-year-old Hasan Ferracak and 17-year-old Elmelind Dyli after the crime. But Abedin Verracaku, Shyqyri Verracaku and Besar Verracaku were declared wanted.
Italian media write today that one of the wanted persons has been arrested. The Albanian was caught in a hotel in Mosano Adriatico and it is also reported that he was under investigation for murder and illegal possession of weapons.
According to the Italian media, he was involved in the event that took place in Albania in 2021, where four people were killed and two others were injured. There is still no name on who has actually been banned.
It is interesting that a few days ago the police arrested a 30-year-old woman who deceived the Verracaku family by taking large sums of money, with the promise that she would intervene to ease the charges against the Verracaku brothers for the Velipoja massacre.
