A 42-year-old man was arrested in Tirana after defrauding citizens through the Booking application.
Arrested FA, 42 years old, resident in Vlora, through interventions in computer systems, was able to penetrate the "Booking" application system of a hotel in Tirana, taking possession of customer data.
He would then send them e-mails, tricking them online, in order to extort various amounts of money from them.
According to the police, work continues to identify other persons involved in this criminal activity.
" The Sector for the Investigation of Cyber Crimes finalizes the police operation "Man in the middle" after a real investigative work. He intervened in the computer systems of the Booking application, deceiving various citizens, in order to obtain sums of money, the 42-year-old was put in handcuffs.
Specialists of the Section for the Investigation of Cyber Frauds, in the Sector for the Investigation of Cyber Crimes, following the work to attack criminal activities in the field of cyber crimes, have organized and finalized the coded police operation "Man in the middle".
As a result of this operation, citizen FA, 42 years old, resident in Vlora, was arrested. This citizen, through interventions in the computer systems, was able to break into the "Booking" application system of a hotel in Tirana, taking possession of customer data. He then sent them e-mails, tricking them online, to get various amounts of money from them. Work continues to identify other citizens involved in this criminal activity", according to the police.
The procedural materials were submitted to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Tirana General Jurisdiction, for the criminal offenses "Computer fraud", "Computer forgery" and "Interference in computer data".
