According to the latest information, Azgan Mërnica has surrendered to the Fier police, after several hours of negotiations. It is learned that it was the family members who convinced him to end his escape, as the police had located the area where he was hiding. According to sources, he was hiding in the village of Dermenas. Then the police asked the family members to intervene, because if he opened fire, he would be shot dead.
The serious event happened on May 13 in Baltëz of Fier. The police officer, Novruz Cenalia, was driving to work, as it was his second shift, but in a narrow street he met an "Audi" in front of him, which was driven by Azgan Mërnica. The two argued about who should open the way and at one point the 23-year-old man took out his gun and shot the officer dead. He was in the vehicle with his mother. He then sped away and abandoned the car at some relatives, leaving on foot.
For 48 hours, the police conducted checks all over Fier, while there were also searches in Vlora, Tepelena and Gjirokastër, but they failed to find him. As it seems today, the young man decided to come out of the place where he was hiding.
Earlier, it was the family members who asked him to surrender, as it is known that his uncle and father negotiated to put an end to the escape.

Everything happened very quickly. I have never seen Novruz. We don't know anything. We are looking for where it could be. I rang the phone, no answer. I wrote to him and he does not answer. We learned more about the event from the television than from the sister. I had no idea if the nephew was carrying a gun. We don't know where he got the gun. I have communicated with everyone we know and we are all searching together. I talked to the police, I told them that they will hand him over if we find him, but we don't have any information ", his uncle declared today.
