Confindustria Albania and the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Albania have reacted in a joint statement to the murder of businessman Edoardo Sarchi near Tepelena.
This reaction calls for an immediate, complete and transparent investigation by the Albanian authorities to clarify the circumstances of the crime.
"It is imperative that the perpetrators and those responsible face justice without delay. Such events cannot remain unpunished, as security and trust are fundamental conditions for the presence and activity of Italian economic operators in Albania ," the joint response emphasizes.
Albanian institutions are further called upon to mobilize full investigative resources, cooperate closely with Italian authorities, and regularly inform the public on the progress of the investigations.
Meanwhile, this Monday, the state police announced that they have solved this serious incident. According to the police, the suspected perpetrator is Kamber Sulçe, 48 years old, a resident of Mesaplik, Vlora, who is wanted.
The businessman's lifeless body was found at a place called "Dilani's Neck" after midnight on September 26, 2025.
As a result of intensive investigations conducted by the special investigative group of the Gjirokastra Police and the Criminal Police Department, under the direction of the Gjirokastra Prosecutor's Office, the suspected perpetrator, Kamber Sulçe, 48 years old, resident of Mesaplik, Vlora, was identified. He is wanted for "Murder under other qualifying circumstances", "Unlicensed possession and production of weapons and ammunition" and "Production and sale of narcotics".
