The chief inspector of the INUV near the municipality of Elbasan, Andri Mehja, has been arrested on charges of corruption, as he allegedly took 2 million old ALL from a citizen, in exchange for allowing a building without a permit.
The ban was made by the prosecutor of Elbasan Xilian Seferi, who in this case cooperated with the media, performing proactive actions together with the journalists of an investigative show.
The inspector and the chief inspector have demanded 2 million old lek from a citizen who, apart from economic problems, has a health problem with one of his children.
During today's action, Andri Mehja, acting as chief inspector, ended up in police custody. Mehja is known in Elbasan as the brother of the son-in-law of the former mayor of Elbasan, Qazim Sejdini.
Along with Mehjan, his subordinate, inspector Bardhyl Qehja, ended up in police custody.
Meanwhile, the investigative actions for this case are continuing for 5 other officials of the chief construction inspectorate in Elbasan, as they were involved in corrupt actions and "abuse of duty".
The case is being followed with great attention as officials of the municipality of Elbasan have been implicated in other corruption cases./ Ora News
