
Border police in Morina arrested three citizens from Kosovo, who were wanted by German and Kuwaiti authorities.
One of them, MG, 65, was identified as a person wanted by German justice. He had been sentenced by a court in Frankfurt to over 4 years in prison for theft and involvement in criminal structures. According to the data, part of the sentence has yet to be executed.
During the checks, Xh. S., 47 years old, who was wanted by the authorities in Kuwait for a serious theft case, was also detained. The checks were carried out through the exchange of information with international structures.
Police also arrested RP, 36 years old, convicted by the Tirana Court for aiding in illegal border crossing. He was wanted within the country.
"The Morinë Border Police structures, following the controls and verifications at entry/exit, with the objective of cracking down on illegalities at the border, as well as detaining wanted citizens who attempt to move illegally to avoid criminal liability, organized the work in cooperation with the structures of the Kukës Border Police and as a result, at the entrance to the Republic of Albania, they captured and arrested/detained 3 citizens, specifically:
-Citizen MG, 65 years old, resident of Kosovo, was captured and arrested with the aim of extradition to Germany. From the verifications carried out and from the information exchanged with Interpol Tirana, it resulted that this citizen had been declared internationally wanted by Interpol Wiesbaden, Germany, after the Frankfurt Court sentenced him to 4 years and 1 month in prison, for the criminal offenses of "Theft", "Criminal Group" and "Criminal Organization". He has 18 months left to serve of his sentence.
– Citizen Xh. S., 47 years old, resident of Prishtina, was captured and arrested with the aim of extradition to Kuwait. From the verifications carried out and from the information exchanged with Interpol Tirana, it resulted that this citizen was declared internationally wanted by the authorities in Kuwait, for the criminal offense of "Aggravated Theft".
Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with counterparts, is continuing the procedures for the extradition of these 2 citizens.
-The citizen RP, 36 years old, resident of Kosovo, was arrested, after verifications showed that he had been declared a national wanted person, after the Tirana Court sentenced him to 4 years in prison, for the criminal offense of "Aid for illegal border crossing".
"Other procedural actions with this citizen will be carried out by the Tirana Police Department," the police announced.
