
A 57-year-old man has been arrested by Tirana Police and another has been declared wanted, following suspicions of being involved in at least two cases of residential burglaries.
According to official sources, during the search of the arrested person's apartment, cash in lek and euros, jewelry, luxury watches, and several cell phones, which are suspected to be stolen, were found and seized.
The accused collaborated with each other, entering homes to take valuables and money. Investigations are ongoing to determine whether they were involved in other theft cases.
"The police operation codenamed "Vlera" is being finalized to solve theft cases.
Two citizens who broke into two apartments have been identified. One of them has been arrested, the other is wanted.
900,000 lek, 5,700 euros, 12 watches, 20 pieces of jewelry (pendants, rings) and 8 cell phones, suspected to have been stolen, and tools that were suspected to have been used to commit the thefts were found and seized in the apartment of the arrested citizen.
In continuation of the work to solve cases of theft of property/assets, identify the perpetrators, capture and bring them to justice, the services of Police Commissariat No. 6 have organized and finalized the coded operation "Vlera", as a result of which 2 cases in this field have been solved and 2 suspected perpetrators have been identified. One of them, citizen RK, 57 years old, has been arrested, while the other, citizen GL, 30 years old, has been declared wanted.
Investigations suspect that these citizens, in collaboration with each other, have broken into 2 apartments, during the months of February and July, and stolen significant amounts of money, valuables, and cell phones.
Work continues to capture the wanted citizen and to document other thefts that he and the arrested citizen may have committed.
"The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution for the criminal offense of "Theft", committed in collaboration," the police announced.
