A 47-year-old man has been arrested in Berat, suspected of being part of a criminal organization that committed violent robberies.
According to the police, citizen Mikel Berisha, 47 years old, resident of Berat, was captured and arrested with the aim of extradition to Italy.
The 47-year-old was declared internationally wanted after the Court of Benevento, Italy, with a decision dated 16.07.2019, assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Criminal group in violent robbery", according to the Italian Criminal Code.
Interpol Tirana and Interpol Rome will carry out the procedures for the extradition of this citizen to Italy.
"Berat/The police operation codenamed "Wanted" is finalized, for the capture of an internationally wanted citizen.
Accused by Italian authorities of being a member of a criminal organization that committed violent thefts, the 47-year-old was captured in Berat and arrested for extradition purposes.
As a result of the checks carried out based on information provided by police intelligence, regarding the location of a citizen on international wanted list, the Operational Services of the Berat Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Narcotics Investigation Section, have organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Wanted".
During this operation, a 47-year-old British citizen, resident of Berat, was captured in Berat and arrested with the aim of extradition to Italy.
This citizen was declared internationally wanted after the Court of Benevento, Italy, with the decision dated 16.07.2019, assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Criminal group in robbery with violence", according to the Italian Criminal Code.
