
The suspected perpetrator of the gunshot wound in Mamurras will remain in prison indefinitely. Endri Baçuku, who was arrested immediately after the incident, was introduced to the security measure at the Lezha court.
In the session held behind closed doors, the 23-year-old is said to have shown remorse, stating that he had shot in the heat of the moment after a momentary quarrel.
The court accepted the request of the prosecution, and decided against him the security measure "Arrest in Prison", for the criminal offenses "Deliberate serious injury" and "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition".
The event happened at noon on March 8 in the center of the city of Mamurras, where the fight between two young men degenerated into the use of a firearm, where 25-year-old Jurgen Ndreca was injured.
The 25-year-old received a bullet in the shoulder and was sent for medical help to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana, from where it is learned that his life is out of danger, while the police made it possible to arrest the author of the incident within a few minutes, as well as find and seize the pistol used by him.
