The 16-year-old who was stabbed this morning in Mat has been urgently transported to Tirana, as he is in serious condition.
It is learned that the minor has undergone surgery at the Burrel Hospital and is fortunately out of danger. The 16-year-old was stabbed in the ribs by another student at the "Gjergj Kastrioti" school, during physical education class.
According to the police, the fight between the two minors started for trivial reasons, and the cold weapon was seized. The young man who was arrested is 18-year-old Donald Lepuri.
"Today, at around 10.30, in the sports area of the high school in the village of Baz, it is suspected that during a conflict for weak motives, citizen DL, 18 years old, attacked a 17-year-old with a cutting tool, who was transported to the hospital for medical assistance.
Thanks to quick actions and immediate response, the services of the Mat Police Commissariat made it possible to capture and escort to the police station the suspected perpetrator of the incident, citizen DL.
During the initial investigative actions regarding this event, it emerged that the 2 citizens involved in the conflict had no previous conflicts.
Also, the cutting tool suspected of being used during the conflict was found and seized as material evidence.
"The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, continues investigative actions to clarify the circumstances and full dynamics of the event," according to the police.
