Lulzim Berisha, Orges Molla, Juxhin Koka, two Brazilian citizens and one from Venezuela are among 15 high-risk prisoners who were transferred in the early morning hours of January 15, 2026 from Durrës Prison to Peqin IEVP, the high-security prison.
"News 24" reports that among the prisoners who were transferred are those who were arrested during Operation 'Ura' and Revansh.
The transfer took place shortly after midnight, under extreme security measures, accompanied by dozens of police vehicles and strict protocols. The convoy arrived in Peqin at around 00:15.
The decision to relocate the most dangerous exponents of the criminal world came after Altin Ndoc escaped from Durres Hospital.
Durrës Prison, also known as the "VIP prison", was put in the spotlight due to its conditions and level of security.
It is reported that 206 convicts and detainees were reassessed for their level of dangerousness, while the most problematic were selected to be housed in Peqin, equipped with special high-security sections.
The operation is considered a strong signal from the state to strengthen control and increase security in prisons, where the most dangerous elements of crime are already concentrated.
