A serious event was recorded in the early hours of the morning, where a family celebration almost turned into a tragedy.
It is learned that a group of young people have presented themselves at a private hospital for medical assistance after gunshot wounds. It is learned that the young people were celebrating in a restaurant in the capital, when one of the young people took out a gun without a permit and fired it involuntarily, injuring 2 friends and a friend.
One of the injured, a 36-year-old girl, is still in the hospital, while the other two have been sent home after treatment. The police have identified the perpetrator and started the search for his capture.
Police notification:
On 23.07.2024, at around 01:35, citizens EP, 36 years old, AP, 36 years old, and DP, 34 years old, presented themselves to a private hospital for medical assistance, with injuries allegedly caused by firearms.
These citizens, around 01:30 this morning, were celebrating together with other people from their social and family circle, in a bar on Kavaja Street.
From the entirety of the preliminary investigative actions, it became possible to identify the suspected perpetrator, a citizen of the EU, 32 years old, resident in Tirana. This citizen is suspected to have accidentally, with a firearm that he was carrying without a permit, made an involuntary shot, and as a result the above citizens were injured.
DP and AP citizens, after receiving medical help, left for their homes, while the EP citizen is in the hospital, under the care of doctors, out of danger.
The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is continuing the work for the full legal documentation of this case and the capture of the EU citizen
