A serious incident occurred in Friuli, Italy, where a 22-year-old Albanian man lost his life as a result of a work accident.
The victim has been identified as Daniel Tafa, who was working on a machine for stamping industrial gears when a hot metal mold exploded and a piece of it hit the 22-year-old in the back. The deceased died at the scene, according to La Repubblica.
One of his colleagues told how the incident happened.
"A piece was placed in the press to perform a test. I don't know what happened but this piece came out of place and hit him," he said.
Daniel celebrated his 22nd birthday on March 24, and a few hours later he went to work on the night shift.
An investigation has been launched into the incident to determine whether the cause of the incident was a machine malfunction or human error.
