A 47-year-old Albanian man was captured by the Italian police after being involved in drug trafficking in the Ancona area.
The Albanian was arrested by the police in the city of Jesi after a significant amount of cardboard boxes and 230 grams of cocaine were found in a house used by him on Setificio street.
The police agents had received information that the apartments in question could be a point of reference for the distribution of cocaine.
After they had started monitoring the facility, the police noticed that the apartment was frequented by a 47-year-old Albanian who had a criminal record in the field of narcotics.
On Tuesday, the police stopped the Albanian for checking at the gate of the apartment. During the physical search, a single dose of cocaine was found on him.
Soon after the search inside the house began, the dogs Hermes and Edox led the police to find the safe where the money and drugs were hidden.
The safe was embedded in the wall of a room in the basement of the house. 40,000 euros in 100 and 50 euro banknotes were found there. Hundreds of plastic waste used for drug packaging, lighters, scissors, containers and a blender containing cocaine were found in the house.
Not only that, the Albanian also took care to monitor the outside via a tablet connected to a video surveillance system.
The 47-year-old Albanian was arrested and is under house arrest awaiting immediate trial.
