According to the official announcement, 24-year-old Andi Llosha, the driver of the vehicle that fell into the stream in the village of Dars, has been arrested.
Police also report that the 24-year-old did not notify the police and left the scene, failing to provide assistance to the passenger.
Police services and RENEA divers continue the search to find the passenger, who is suspected to have been swept away by the current of the stream.
"Around 01:30, information was received that at the place called the bridge of the village of Dars, administrative unit of Klos, an "Audi" type vehicle, with English license plates, went off the road and fell into the stream of the village of Dars.
Police and fire services immediately went to the scene.
The rapid actions taken by the Police services made it possible to identify the driver of the vehicle, citizen AL, 24 years old, resident of the village of Fullqet, Klos.
Based on the actions, it is suspected that there was also a passenger in the vehicle, citizen JK, 30 years old, resident of the village of Fullqet, who is suspected to have been swept away by the current of the stream.
During the actions to clarify the circumstances of the accident, the Police services captured and arrested citizen AL, 24 years old, who is suspected of having left the scene after causing the accident.
This citizen underwent an alcohol test, which revealed that he was driving while intoxicated.
Meanwhile, RENEA divers, police services and firefighters continue searching the Dars village stream to find the passenger, citizen JK.
"The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police announced.
