A 43-year-old man has been arrested by the Elbasan Police, after allegedly attempting to kill a 59-year-old man with a cutting tool during a conflict over weak motives in a bar in the city.
Meanwhile, the injured party, who is accused of the criminal offense of "Failure to report a crime", has also been arrested after refusing to provide explanations about the circumstances of the incident. According to the police, the 59-year-old is in hospital and is out of danger.
Preliminary investigations suspect that the incident occurred in a bar in the "Luigj Gurakuqi" neighborhood, where during a conflict for weak motives, the 43-year-old stabbed citizen RB, 59, with a knife.

The Elbasan Police Services, immediately after being notified that a 59-year-old man suspected of having been injured with a cutting tool had presented himself for medical assistance at the regional hospital, organized the work, and as a result of rapid investigative and operational actions, made it possible to identify, capture and put in handcuffs the suspected perpetrator, citizen MA, 43 years old, resident of Elbasan.
From the investigative actions, it is suspected that in a bar in the "Luigj Gurakuqi" neighborhood, during a conflict for weak motives, citizen MA injured citizen RB, 59 years old, with a cutting tool.
Further, actions were taken to arrest citizen RB in flagrante delicto, for the criminal offense of "Failure to report a crime", after he refused to provide explanations for the incident.
The injured person is under medical care and is out of danger. The cutting tool (knife) suspected of being used in the incident was seized as material evidence.
"The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Elbasan, for further action," the police announced.
