The Special Prosecutor's Office has been set in motion for the election crimes of May 14. There have been many accusations of selling and buying votes, while today SPAK has put a person in handcuffs. According to an announcement issued by SPAK, Klodian Kapidani was arrested. The latter was seen during the May 14 elections giving money and trying to buy votes in the city of Kavaja. After the investigations and securing the evidence, today he was put in handcuffs by order of SPAK. According to sources, the suspicions are that he was buying votes for the Bashke Fitojme coalition.
" From the investigative actions carried out in connection with this criminal proceeding, suspicions have been created that the KK citizen, residing in Kavajë, on 14.05.2023, the date on which the general local elections for the election of local government bodies were held, was "promised and offered monetary sums to other persons in order to participate in the voting, to ensure the participation of other persons in the voting, as well as to determine the voting method," the prosecution says .
This is SPAK's first action for election crimes. Some time ago, Fredi Beleri was arrested for vote buying, but the latter was handcuffed by the Vlora prosecutor's office.

The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime has conducted investigations in relation to criminal proceedings no. 88 of 2023, which deals with the criminal offense "Active corruption in elections", provided for by Article 328 of the Criminal Code.
From the investigative actions carried out in connection with this criminal proceeding, suspicions have been created that the KK citizen, residing in Kavajë, on 14.05.2023, the date on which the general local elections for the election of local government bodies were held, was promised and offered monetary sums to other persons in order to participate in the voting, to ensure the participation of other persons in the voting, as well as to determine the voting method.
In the framework of the preliminary investigations of this criminal proceeding, at the request of the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana, with decision no. 58, dated 09.06.2023 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana, is located:
- Determination of the security measure "Arrest in prison" provided by article 238 of the Code of Criminal Procedure for the person under investigation KK, suspected of committing the criminal offense "Active corruption in elections", provided for by article 328 of the Criminal Code.
The judicial police services of the Tirana Local Police Directorate executed on 09.06.2023 the measure of personal security imposed on the person under investigation above.
The preliminary investigations for this criminal proceeding are ongoing and have not yet been completed.
