Spain's Civil Guard has arrested eight people of different nationalities while unloading a shipment of 600 kilograms of cocaine that arrived in Valencia hidden in the double bottom of a container.
The arrests took place when the suspected drug traffickers were trying to get the packages of cocaine into a van.
The eight arrested were sent to prison this Thursday afternoon by order of the investigative judge number 13 of Valencia, who made the decision after reviewing the police report, heard the investigators, of whom only three have agreed to testify in court.
According to information, this shipment left the port of Callao, Peru, loaded with avocados and arrived in Valencia two weeks ago. From that moment, agents of the Organized Crime and Anti-Drug Team (EDOA) of the Valencia Command inspected the shipment and subjected it to a close surveillance, after the Valencia court ordered the control of the shipment, to recover the drugs in due time.
So the load of avocados was sent and followed to its destination, a warehouse in an industrial area in Malaga, where the fruit was unloaded. After that, the same truck returned to Valencia with the container, now empty, and deposited it at a container terminal in Quart de Poblet.
The arrests took place when the suspected drug traffickers were unloading packages of cocaine after unlocking the double section of the warehouse, parked at the Quart de Poblet logistics camp. The arrested intended to take the drugs into a van they left parked on the street, in which some were loading the packages, while others took them from the double bottom and threw them one by one over the surrounding wall of the bar.
The fact that there were so many people involved in the recovery of the drugs, since usually there are no more than three involved, is precisely because of the fatigue of this maneuver, since they could not enter the interior of the port by van, write the Spanish media .
Of the eight suspected traffickers arrested, seven are Spanish and the eighth is Albanian. The latter acted as the 'notary' of the shipment for the drug importing organization, that is, the criminal group that paid the shipment to the Colombian producers and then took care of its distribution. Usually, shipments of this size end up serving to supply Spanish drug traffickers, mainly groups based in Madrid and other European markets.
