The Minister declared yesterday that public safety has increased: 3 victims today and one injured by TNT
Interior Minister Albana Koçi declared yesterday in Parliament that security in Albania has increased significantly and crime has decreased. Ironically, a day after her statements, the country was shaken by 4 serious criminal incidents, with 3 victims and one injured.
The first incident occurred in Shkodra, where a Tax official was the target of a TNT attack. As soon as the Tax official wanted to get into his vehicle, a nearby motorcycle exploded remotely, injuring citizen Enea Buzukja. The latter is out of danger, but has a wound to his hand. The explosion occurred at around 11:35, in the "Ndoc Mazi" neighborhood.
Then, in the space of 2 hours, 3 stabbings occurred. In Durrës, the son stabbed his father. The incident occurred in the Shkallnuri area and the victim was a 70-year-old man. A few minutes later, a serious incident occurred in Tirana. In a bar in the Paris Municipality, there was a conflict between the chef and the waiter of the bar. After an argument between them, the 41-year-old chef, Filip Shehu, stabbed Indrit Ismaillari, 34. He was injured, but died in hospital.
A few minutes later, a stabbing occurred in Berat. According to official sources, citizen Kristo Mema, a resident of the “Barrikadë” neighborhood, stabbed Keli Hoxha, 42, from Tirana, after an argument that degenerated into a physical fight. According to testimonies from the scene, the conflict between the two men began over a horse that was being used for tourist rides in the castle area. After the situation deteriorated, the 63-year-old took out a knife and stabbed Hoxha several times, causing serious injuries that resulted fatal in the hospital.
But the balance becomes even more tragic if we remember what happened on October 22 in Durrës. Two young men were shot dead after a fight between them over a coffee espresso. The police are still looking for the perpetrator and cannot locate him. So, in the span of 1 week we have 5 victims and one injured from the TNT explosion. What public safety is Albana Koçiu talking about? The TNT happened in the middle of the road and in the middle of the day. There could also have been victims among passersby.
The murder in Tirana took place in a bar; it was not known how the fight between the perpetrator and the victim would end, as the bar was full of customers. In Durrës, the murder of two young men took place inside the bar. As luck would have it, it was midnight and there were no people there. So, it seems as if the minister is mocking the citizens. Not to mention that the head of the Police, Ilir Proda, is unknown where he is. He only comes out when he is given a certificate or title, while he is nowhere to be seen in terms of order and security. /Pamphlet
