Media around the world have written about Dritan Rexhepin. While talking about Pablo Escobar, the name of the Albanian involved in organized crime is not missing in the tabloids of the most popular newspapers.
" The Bello Company is known as a network of criminal organizations led by 'capo' Dritan Rexhepi, an Albanian who was arrested in 2020 in coordinated raids in Europe and the Middle East. Italian prosecutors said Rexhepi had access to 'endless amounts of cocaine' while Europol said the raid was 'the largest of its kind ever against Albanian-speaking organized crime'. Closer to home, lucrative cocaine profits are thought to have fueled a vicious gang war in Ireland that has left at least 18 dead since it erupted in 2015 and led to dozens of arrests, writes the Daily Mail .
Meanwhile, in 2011 the Spanish media wrote about the "master of prison escapes". Rexhepi escaped in 2007 from the Durrës police after the latter took him to take a photo of him and distribute it to the media. Meanwhile, a year later, the capo gang is remembered for a spectacular escape from the Pavia prison in Italy. A little later another escape was registered in Belgium.
He left Kakavija with a forged passport with the generals Lulzim Murataj - the passport with which he was arrested in Ecuador - and since November 16, 2013, Dritan Rexhepi has not returned to Albania.
