A 19-year-old Albanian man, who was driving a vehicle, was arrested by border police in Piding, while traveling on the A8 near Siegsdorf towards Salzburg in Austria.
The 19-year-old appeared nervous in front of the officers and gave contradictory answers to their questions. The police then thoroughly searched his Volkswagen and discovered two hidden packages. A subsequent investigation revealed that it contained about 1.5 kilograms of cocaine.
The border police temporarily arrested the 19-year-old Albanian. After consulting with the Traunstein public prosecutor's office, an investigating judge issued an arrest warrant for the suspect for illegal possession and trafficking of a significant amount of narcotics.
The 19-year-old is now in custody at the correctional facility. The Traunstein Criminal Investigation Department is investigating.
