An Albanian was arrested on the Naples-Milan highway in Italy, after he was caught with 12 kilograms of cocaine hidden in his car.
At the end of the operations, the drug courier was sent to the Neapolitan prison of Poggioreale, while according to the authorities' estimates, the large amount of seized cocaine, thrown on the market, would cost around one million euros.
The operation to arrest the Albanian drug courier made it possible to dismantle an important link in the supply chain of criminal organizations operating in the Neapolitan area. The seizure of this large amount of drugs is a heavy blow to the Camorra coffers, depriving it of an important source of funding, the Italian media write.
Moreover, the arrest of the courier opens new avenues of investigation that can lead to the identification of other subjects involved in illegal traffic and dismantle entire criminal cells. The investigation is still ongoing and further developments are expected.
