Kevin Hajrulla, who was injured in a well-organized assassination attempt in Vlora at the end of December 2024, has left the Trauma Hospital after more than a month where he stayed for treatment after being wounded by 24 bullets.
The young man, a call center employee, has no criminal record and insists to investigators that he has no connection to the underworld. He is the cousin of Inez Hajrulla, who is known as one of the crime bosses in Vlora, and it is suspected that the attack came from him.
Hajrulla took over the leadership of Edison Arizaj's criminal group after the latter's murder in Durrës in 2018. Inez Hajrulla is in strong conflict with Bernard Sinamat, who is known as the leader of the opposing group.
Sinamati's nephew Gëzim was killed by sniper fire in January 2024 while he was on the balcony of the palace. On the 1st anniversary of his murder, only the young man's mother was at the cemetery, but no other members, as both groups are guarding each other.
In recent weeks, the Vlora police have seized 3 armored vehicles belonging to Inez Hajrulla's group, while the latter has not yet been questioned. The police have no suspects in the assassination attempt on Kevin Hajrulla and the evidence to identify the perpetrators is scant. Kevin Hajrulla's family, meanwhile, expresses concern for the safety of the boys who have been targeted in the crime.
