A 52-year-old man has been arrested by Tirana police after being caught in a vehicle with narcotics.
It is learned that 52-year-old Afrim Meçe, a resident of Krujë, was arrested after he was circulating with a quantity of 60 kilograms of cannabis sativa in a vehicle, which was transporting the narcotic substance for the purpose of sale.
He was caught in the village of Luz in Fushë Krujë, with 6 bags of cannabis with him. According to the police, the drug was to be sold in small doses in the city of Krujë and Tirana, while the narcotic substance was worth around 60 thousand euros.
The narcotics were seized as material evidence, along with the vehicle and a cell phone. Afrim Meçe is accused of the criminal offense of "Production and sale of narcotics." The police are conducting investigations to identify whether other citizens are involved.

The Narcotics Investigation Section, in cooperation with the Special Operations Force Section, in continuation of the work to crack down on criminal activities in the field of narcotics, based on information obtained regarding a case of drug sales, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Cargo", as a result of which the following citizen was caught red-handed and arrested:
-AM, 52 years old, resident of Kruja.
During the operation, the Police services stopped the vehicle driven by citizen AM in the village of Luz, Fushë Krujë, in which they found 6 bags of suspected cannabis sativa, with a total weight of 60 kilograms.
Investigations suspect that the narcotics (worth around 60,000 euros) were being sold in small doses in the city of Kruja and Tirana.
The narcotics were seized as material evidence, along with the vehicle and a cell phone.
"Investigations are ongoing to fully document this criminal activity and identify other citizens involved ," the police announced.
