The prosecution has launched investigations today into Mirel Çokaj, who was found dead in an abyss in Malësia e Madhe.

His sister, Mirjana Çokaj, speaking to the media, accuses her brother's partner of the incident, as according to her, her brother was killed over drug issues. Mirjana Çokaj demands justice from the state for her brother and tells the story of the incident.

"I am Mirjana Çokaj. I just left the prosecutor's office, regarding the death of my brother, Mirel Çokaj, who was found dead in the Kelmendi Mountains. I suspect that he was killed for drug parcels. He is suspected of being killed for a drug parcel that was found in Malesia e Madhe. 980 drug roots were found in that parcel. The State Police destroyed it. In recent years, my brother has been involved in drugs. He has been convicted of drugs.

When I confronted my partner, I couldn't walk down the street anymore. He walked ahead of me and found my brother on the street. Gëzim Preldalkaj said that my brother had fallen into the abyss and died. He said that he had heard the phone ring and that it had also rung.

He said he had not touched the phone, but the cell phone was not found. I want to know how he knew where my brother had died. I want you to solve my brother's case because I suspect that one of his associates is involved in my brother's murder. From the calls he may have made, he must have called the van. I suspect that my brother changed his route. I suspect his own associate. My brother was supposed to return that day, but he returned two days ago. He diverted the route and went to that path. My brother was either pushed, or someone fell from behind him. I want my brother's case to be solved," she said.

How did the serious incident happen?

The incident occurred on September 18 of this year when the police received a report that a person had fallen in the village of Kozhnje in Malesia e Madhe. In the afternoon, initially via drone, the officers confirmed that the body belonged to citizen Mirel Çokaj. 24 hours after the report, it was possible to extract the victim from the abyss via an Army helicopter, which arrived and retrieved the body.

The relatives' suspicions are related to a possible murder, as according to them, Mirel Çokaj was in a drug plot about an hour away from where he was found before he lost his life. According to the family, the 40-year-old had the drug plot together with several other partners and they suspect that at least one of them may have pushed citizen Mirel Çokaj towards the abyss with the intention of not giving him his share of the profit from this illegal business.

The cannabis cultivated there was ready to be harvested and prepared for the market and it was at this very moment that Çokaj was found lifeless in the abyss. Relatives also raised suspicions due to the fact that the victim's mobile phone has not yet been found and they believe that the person who pushed him also disappeared the mobile phone somewhere in the abyss, making it impossible to find it again.
