Criminalistics expert Artan Rexhepi said that Peqin prison is a high security prison, but it does not have the necessary parameters.
In an interview for Euronews Albania, the expert emphasized that the statements that the cameras and the scanner did not work are stories to hide the evidence.
He considers it scandalous the fact that there are apartments around Peqin prison.
"Peqin Prison is a high security prison, but it does not have the necessary parameters. The employees themselves have admitted that the security cameras and the scanner were not working. These are stories to hide the evidence. It is a prison that has no toilets in the room. It is a prison made by foreign investment. For me, one of the biggest scandals is that there are apartments around," he said.
