Was Jani Aliaj's murder ordered? The perpetrator convicted of the murder of
Victim Jani Aliaj

Today, a well-known figure in the criminal world, Jani Aliaj, was stabbed to death.

The perpetrator is Greek and is serving a life sentence for the murder of another Albanian in August 2025, according to Greek media.

It is suspected that the perpetrator who stabbed Aliaj is the same one who killed 47-year-old Albanian Artur Bashimi on August 18 in Athens.

A 27-year-old Greek man, who turned out to be a drug user, told police at the time that he was paid 15,000 euros for the murder of Bashim.

The young man claimed he did not know him after the order was forwarded to him through prison contacts.

Artur Bashimi had a criminal record in Greece for theft and involvement in criminal organizations. He was first arrested in February 2022 as part of a group that carried out robberies on public transport and again in April 2024 on similar charges.

The deceased was the brother of Marsel Bashimi with a "serious" file arrested with Bledar Jambelli in Greece, the same one who in Albania is accused of ordering the murder of Commissioner Artan Cuku. The crime occurred at 9:25 pm on the evening of August 18 at the intersection of Michael Voda and Rodou streets in Athens. The perpetrator, on a motorcycle, approached Bashimi and shot him, leaving him dead on the spot. A cartridge and a shell casing were seized at the scene.
