Jani Aliaj has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of Elton Çiço...

A serious incident has occurred inside the high-security prison in Koridhallos, Greece, where a prisoner of Albanian origin was stabbed to death by another convict. Initial reports suggest that the victim is Jani Aliaj, a well-known figure in Albanian justice.

According to Greek media reports, the incident took place in the third wing of the prison, under circumstances that remain unclear. The victim died from injuries sustained from an improvised sharp object used during the attack by another Greek prisoner. The perpetrator is suspected of hitting the victim twice in the neck.

Prison sources say the victim and the perpetrator were convicted of serious crimes, specifically murder, making this a bitter clash between dangerous criminals. It is not yet known whether the incident was the result of an earlier conflict, revenge or a contract killing.

According to Greek media reports, the perpetrator was sent to prison for the murder of an Albanian man on the street in Agios Panteleimonas last summer. According to verifications, it is suspected that he is the person who killed the 47-year-old Albanian Artur Bashimi. The 27-year-old, a drug user, declared at the time after his arrest that he had undertaken to execute the Albanian for a sum of 15,000 euros. Apparently today he took the life of another Albanian.

According to Greek media, the perpetrator is believed to be the suspected leader of the so-called Koridhalos prison mafia. It is further stated that the victim was known as "Claudie", and that there had been disagreements between them.

Who is Jani Aliaj?

Aliaj was born in Tepelena and sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment for the sensational murder on May 1, 2016 in Tirana, where Elton Çiço was killed at the 'De Niro' bar in the former block area.

In 2000, Jani Alia stabbed E. Ballazhiu to death in the village of Zhabakin. E. Ballazhiu, 20 years old, was a childhood friend of Elton Çiço. They had grown up together in Tepelena, and Çiço was very interested in finding out who his friend's killer was.

The moment he found out who his friend's killer was, Elton Çiço sent word to Alia in prison, telling her that he would take revenge for this murder.

Jani Alia, then 23 years old, was arrested by the Greek police and held in custody. About 3 years later, Elton Çiço was also arrested by the Greek police and imprisoned in the Koridhalos prison. Ironically, Jani Alia was also in the same prison, sentenced to 18 years for murder, while Çiço was sentenced to 5 years for drugs.

There, the first physical confrontation between them took place, after Çiço stabbed Alia while they were out for a walk. A few weeks after the incident, Jani Alia was released from prison on parole, after spending 10 years in prison, but he never returned and was declared wanted by the police. A short time later, Elton Çiço also left after completing his sentence. After this moment, the assassinations began.

On January 10, 2016, Elton Çiço attempted to execute Alia in Tirana, on Kavajës Street.

Çiço fires several shots at him, but only a random person with the initials AQ is injured by the bullets. After police investigations, it was discovered that the target was Jani Aliaj, who was in a "BMW X6" car with license plate AA 727.., which he then disappeared, although this vehicle is currently blocked by the police.

Determined to get revenge, Çiço organized another assassination attempt, this time in Gjirokastër. On April 25, 2016, Jani Aliaj was driving a friend's car when Çiço opened fire on him. Aliaj was slightly wounded in the hand, but managed to survive this time as well.

The police could not prove Elton Çiço's authorship, while Jani Alia himself stated that it was just a mix-up.

From this moment on, Jani Alia moved to Tirana and sought the help of Renato Milloshi, with whom he had been friends for a long time.

Just 1 week later, on May 1, 2016, Elton Çiço was executed with 2 bullets in a bar in Bllok. The police announced Jani Aliaj and Renato Miloš as the perpetrators of the incident.

After the murder of Elton Çiço, his friends, including Andi Mustafaraj, promised revenge.

Just 4 months after Çiço's murder, and shortly after Mustafaraj's message, on August 21, 2016, at around 3:35 PM, Nelgert Pata, known as a friend and collaborator of Jani Aliaj, was assassinated in a bar near the former Bus Park in Tirana.

Due to some decorative plants in the bar, Nelgert Pata escaped the assassin's sight and was slightly wounded in the ear. Immediately after the incident, Pata fled in an unknown direction.

The same scheme was followed in the gun attack on Andi Mustafaraj on October 28th in a bar in the Ish-ekspozita area.

He was kept under surveillance until he got out of the car and sat in a cafe, where he was shot 3 times and injured.

The third murder is that of 34-year-old Nelgert Pata, a friend of Jani Aliaj and a rival of Elton Çiço's group. Pata was executed in his car and was found only a few minutes later by the police. Also on the outskirts of Fier, the police found a burned-out car that was suspected to be the perpetrators, the media reported at the time.

There are suspicions that his murder may have been ordered. /Pamphlet
