The Prosecutor's Office of Tirana has closed the investigation into the murder of Stiven Toshkes, sending to the Court the request for the trial in charge of the two suspected perpetrators.
Axel Hoxha is accused of murder, while Ensi Maze is accused of not reporting a crime. The event took place on April 18 of last year, where after a conflict between young people in Tirana, as a result of the use of a cutting tool, 20-year-old Stiven Toshkesi lost his life.
The cause is suspected to be a physical fight that the perpetrator and the victim had earlier, because of a girl. In the testimony given to the police, Ensi Maze denied having knowledge of the conflict between Stiven Toshkesi and Axel Hoxhaj, stating that he had just returned from the Netherlands where he was studying business management and had decided to meet his school friends. He claimed that he was accidentally found at the scene.
Axel Hoxhaj and Ensi Maze had accounts (at least that's how it is defined by them) with Stiven Toshkes. They had conflicted earlier about the victim's girlfriend, who had fallen prey to continuous harassment by the author Axel Hoxhaj. For this reason, Toshkesi had conflicted with both of them earlier. Shortly after midnight (April 18), the two young men waited as soon as the victim finished work and stabbed him, which unfortunately proved fatal for the 20-year-old.
Toshkesi lost his life after midnight on the '4 Martyrs' Street in the capital, near the "Partizani" gymnasium.
