
The 43-year-old Gerlad Shehu, the main suspected perpetrator of the murder of the receptionist of a hotel in Dhërmi, was reportedly arrested in an attempt to escape to England.
According to the information, the Greek authorities spotted the 43-year-old when he was getting a flight ticket to London.
While he is already under arrest in the Corfu police and an order is being awaited to bring him to Albania. With the arrest of the perpetrator, it is expected to be revealed where the body of the victim, the 31-year-old from Tirana, was dumped.
How did the event happen?
A serious incident took place in Dhërmi, where the receptionist of a hotel was shot dead a few minutes after midnight, around 00:30.
The victim is Eraldo Nevruzi, 31 years old from Tirana. While the author has been identified as Gerald Shehu, from Tepelena, resident in England. Shehu is co-owner of the hotel where the crime took place.
According to the police, Shehu shot the 31-year-old man in one of the hotel rooms and after disposing of the body, fled towards the neighboring country, Greece. He allegedly left the hotel around 1am.
There are two preliminary tracks of the investigation, one for a banal momentary conflict and the other for prior acquaintance and involvement in illegal activities in England where both the victim and the perpetrator lived and worked.
