
New details have emerged from the incident that occurred the day before in Korça, where during an anti-drug operation two police officers were involved in a road accident, while one of them was injured.
According to police sources, Korça Police officers had organized an operation to crack down on the distribution of narcotics in the area. During the operation, they identified a person suspected of having just purchased drugs from citizen Vangjush Dushku.
When the police tried to stop him, the suspect drove away in a vehicle, forcing officers to chase him. The chase ended in a traffic accident, after the police car collided with the vehicle of the person being chased. Immediately after the collision, Dushku was arrested.
In parallel, other members of the investigation team conducted a search of a bar in the village of Lumalas, where Vangjush Dushku worked as a waiter. During the search, the police found additional doses of narcotics both on Dushku's body and in the premises of the bar, which led to his arrest.
Meanwhile, the owner of the bar has been declared wanted, as it is suspected that the premises were used for the sale of drugs.
Police are continuing investigations to fully document the criminal activity and identify other persons involved in this activity.
The injured officer is in Tirana hospital and, according to doctors, his life is out of danger.
