A prostitution and drug trafficking base has been discovered and busted by police in Elbasan, leading to the arrest of 4 women from Colombia and the Dominican Republic, while the organizer of the illegal activity has been declared wanted.
A three-story building in the "Visarjon Xhuvani" neighborhood in Elbasan was adapted for prostitution and drug distribution.
Police arrested four foreign nationals, from Colombia and the Dominican Republic, aged 25 to 35, in flagrante delicto. According to the investigation, they were directly involved in criminal activity, practicing prostitution and distributing drugs to clients.
On the premises of the building, police seized approximately 0.5 kg of Cannabis Sativa and 35.3 grams of cocaine, as well as a large amount of money, mobile phones and other items suspected of being used for this activity.
The investigation has also identified the suspected organizer of this scheme, a 56-year-old Albanian citizen with the initials AT, who has been declared wanted. Authorities say that work to capture him is ongoing.
"It is discovered that in a 3-story building, in the "Visarjon Xhuvani" neighborhood in Elbasan, prostitution was practiced and the narcotics Cocaine and Cannabis Sativa were sold. 4 citizens from Colombia and the Dominican Republic, involved in these criminal activities, were arrested on the premises of the building. The organizer was identified and declared wanted. 0.5 kg of the narcotic Cannabis Sativa, 35.3 g of the narcotic Cocaine, sums of money, sports weapons, cell phones and other items related to the two criminal activities were seized.
Specialists of the investigative structures of the Elbasan Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with specialists of the Traffic Investigation and Operational Support sections, as a result of an intensive investigation, with proactive methods, carried out in coordination with the Elbasan Prosecutor's Office, with the aim of documenting with legal evidence the establishment of a multi-storey building, in the "Visarjon Xhuvani" neighborhood, in function of several criminal activities, finalized the operation codenamed "Streha".
During the intervention in the facility, foreign citizens, BM, 35 years old, DG, 27 years old, LM, 25 years old and JB, 33 years old, were arrested in flagrante delicto. The investigation resulted in them practicing prostitution in the 3-story facility, as well as selling the narcotics Cocaine and Cannabis Sativa to citizens who benefited from this criminal activity. Also, the investigation identified the organizer of these criminal activities, citizen AT, 56 years old , for whose localization and capture, the Police continue to work intensively. The procedural materials were referred to the Elbasan Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police announced.
