The nominations for the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, which will be held on September 14, 2025, have been officially announced. Apple TV+'s thriller series "Severance" leads the list with 27 nominations, positioning itself as one of this year's main favorites.
It is closely followed by HBO Max's "The Penguin" with 24 nominations, while the popular series "The White Lotus" and "The Studio" each receive 23 nominations. "The Studio" thus enters the race as one of the most highly regarded comedies of the year, alongside last year's winner, "The Bear."
A historic moment in this edition is the first-ever nomination for Harrison Ford, at the age of 83, for his supporting role in the comedy "Shrinking."
The nominations were announced by actors Harvey Guillén (“What We Do in the Shadows”) and Brenda Song (“Running Point”), while two separate categories, reality competition and talk show, were revealed during the “CBS Mornings” program.
The category for best drama series includes big names like "The Last of Us," "The White Lotus," "The Diplomat" and "Slow Horses."
In comedy, strong confrontations are expected between "Hacks", "The Bear", "Shrinking" and "Only Murders in the Building".
Among the miniseries and television films, the highlights are "The Penguin", "Black Mirror" and the unexpected return of Bridget Jones to the small screen with the film "Mad About the Boy".
The awards ceremony will be broadcast live on CBS, with comedian Nate Bargatze serving as host, who is also nominated for his special "Your Friend, Nate Bargatze."
