The 69th Eurovision final that took place in Switzerland had at least 3 big surprises.
One of the surprises of the final was Israel, who, despite the low scores they received from the juries, managed to win second place in the end, after securing great support from the public, receiving 297 votes in the televoting. In total, the Israeli singer recorded 357 points and ranked second, behind Austria.
The performer was Yuval Raphael, a survivor of the Hamas attack on the Nova festival, on October 7, 2023. She performed the song "New Day Will Rise".
Another surprise of the final was Sweden, which, while betting agencies had "quoted" it as the winner for months, ultimately failed to win either the public votes or the jury points.
The group KAJ with the song "Bara bada bastu" finished in fourth place, followed by Italy.
The trio of surprises was completed by Estonia with Tommy Kass and "Espresso macchiato", the humorous song.
The song, a mix of electro, industrial pop and satirical rap, rhythmically evokes all the stereotypes about Italy: express, fashion, passion, drama.
With a suit, long tie and a sticky note reading "I love Eurovision", his choreography has surreal elements.
