President Bajram Begaj honored today the founder of the Albanian state and leader of Independence, Ismail Qemali, on the 182nd anniversary of his birth.
Begaj called for the unity of all Albanians in finalizing the process of Albania's membership in the European Union, emphasizing that this objective constitutes the natural continuation of Ismail Qemali's state-forming vision.
"Today, on his birthday, we honor the founder of the Albanian state, the visionary man who made the centuries-old dream of Albanians for freedom and independence in the lands of their ancestors a reality."
"The aspiration of Ismail Qemali and the founding fathers for a European Albania remains today the only national strategy, the only goal, the realization of which must unite all Albanians, without any distinction," writes President Begaj.
