From academic bestseller to political successor scenario: signals of a prepared "landing" amid majority crisis and international pressure
Lea Ypi, the renowned professor of philosophy, namely materialism, at the London School of Economics, has become a best seller for years with her biographical books. She presents these works not only in Great Britain, but in almost all major European centers: France, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Italy, etc.
These presentations have had particular importance in academic environments and the political establishment of the European left.
Meanwhile, the most important British and European media, from The Guardian, Observer, Le Figaro, Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Corriere della Sera, etc., have written extensively this year about the biography of a rising star of the global left, who comes from a family of noble origin, persecuted during the communist regime.
The Albanian professor is considered one of the ten most vocal thinkers on the continent and one of the intellectuals who most clearly articulates and defends the views of the left.
Lea Ypi is not a classic activist, like many left-wing figures in Europe, who are better known for making noise about certain issues, like Gaza or civil rights. She is an intellectual who treats humanity as an integral part of society. In other words, she stands closer to a centrist approach to the left, away from fanatical extremes.
Ypi is also a fellow of the British Academy and part of a European intellectual center where global leftist thought is shaped. The LSE is one of the most well-known centers of this shaping, funded by the Soros foundations.
Edi Rama has promoted Lea Ypi at high international levels, giving copies of her book, in the respective languages, to the heads of state he has met. This is a clear signal, read more politically than literary.
This entire operation "coincidentally" occurred at a particular political moment, when lobbies within the Soros network supported Erion Veliaj as Edi Rama's successor.
In 2024, during the visit of the US Secretary of State, this became apparent, when Blinken met with the mayor of Tirana and conveyed the message to Edi Rama to "open your arms".
It was on that day that the famous anonymous letter of Nesti Angoni, which later led to the attack on Erion Veliaj, ended up in SPAK. During this period, specifically in 2025, Lea Ypi had a very successful year in its European launch.
Meanwhile, in December, at the most difficult moment for the majority, after SPAK's attacks on Edi Rama's dome, Lea Ypi landed in his hometown.
Initially, she received the high title of "Doctor Honoris Causa" at the "Aleksandër Moisiu" University of Durrës, her hometown.
The city where Professor Ypi also spent the end-of-year holidays, giving a message with special meaning for the return:
“I spent New Year's Eve with family, old and new friends, discussing books, politics, literature, and political engagement, starting, as I intend, to continue! I wish you all a wonderful year 2026, with all my gratitude for your support this year!”
This is a clear message that speaks of an important beginning in her committed life, which she also mentioned in a television interview, on one of the political shows in Tirana. A statement that sees entering politics as a possibility, but without setting a concrete deadline.
However, all these developments do not seem coincidental and create a clearer picture that Lea Ypi's preparation phase has ended, while now the time for activation has begun.
A political commitment that, for a figure of international and intellectual importance, would not make sense in a second-rate role, but only in a first-level leadership position.
So: potential leader of the Socialists, "technical" prime minister until EU membership, or successor to Edi Rama, at a moment determined by the "king" himself?
It seems that we are dealing with a remote negotiation between Edi Rama and the internationals, who are demanding the implementation of an "expiration date".
Lea Ypi has no family or historical connection to the Socialist Party, as she comes from a persecuted family with a right-wing past. The Albanian right, so far, has completely boycotted her activity and has not expressed sympathy, viewing any idea of a political catapult with provincial jealousy.
Meanwhile, interesting movements are being observed on the left. Although they do not like a "parachute landing" from above, some MPs initially expressed doubts, but later softened their positions by speaking of sympathy.
The puzzle is moving towards its final phase. The manner of this "political landing" still remains unclear, but one element seems imperative: time.

Me mire kjo, apo Flamur Noka. Bravo Rames nese kjo eshte pasardhsja. Enveri deshtoi sepse nuk la klase te udhehiqte, Sala deshtoi se nuk la njeri ta zevendesonte, Rama ndoshta ja del. Me mire kete qe e pranon Europa apo keta katunaret qe si do as krahina ku kane lindur.
Kjo është e zgjedhur nga ish kryeministri anglez Blair, si pasardhëse e kryeministrit aktual të Shqipërisë....
Nese nje intelektuale i vihen ne sherbim planeve djallezore te km Rama per te lene nje pasardhes qe nuk merret me te apo me aferat e tij atehere Intelekti ka vdekur dhe interesi mbizoteron. Lea Ypi perfaqeson nje familje te madhe e cila ka qene kunder sistemit komunist dhe per rrjedhoje ka vuajtur pasoja te renda prej tij dhe venia ne sherbim te partise socialiste eshte shkelje e dinjitetit te saj dhe familjes qe ajo perfaqeson. Nese ajo do te donte te angazhohej politikisht vendi i saj duhet tw jene prane partise Demokratike e cila ne kete moment ka nevoje per gjak te ri dhe njerez me integritet
Ku e gjetet që Lea është ndër dhjete mendimtaret e kontinentit? Mos flisni broçkulla se dhe Ed Rama është ndër dhjete piktoret me të medhenj të kohës... Po pres Lean të marrë Çmimin Nobel per mendimin, owe çmimin Plato....

Kjo femer eshte rrezik kombetar dhe do ta provoje koha
Nuk përzjehet zj Lea Ypi në llumin e politikës shqiptare. Po erdhi, o do shkoj në gjurmët e Palloshit, o nuk vjen fare.
Me vjen vërtet shume keq, po vërtet shume keq qe opozita shqiptare, eshte kaq e dobet, kospiracioniste dhe e fiksuar me Sorosin. Kush është Sorosi mor shok? Ca jane kto gjera qe shkruani? Nje artikull qe nis me fakte dhe lavde dhe degradon ne konspiracion. Ore qeveria eshte e tmerrshme, por edhe opozita eshte po aq e tmerrshme. Dhe Lea Ypi nuk ka lidhje fare me kto deklarata qe juve beni, as per tu bere kryeministrja e nje qeverie teknike, asgje. Po aman mo te zinj, si nuk nxorret nje figure te re? Si nuk i jepni vetes pak dinjitet? Nje intelektuale si Lea, as nuk do ndyhej me flliqesiren qe eshte politika. Prandaj ka vendosur te bej teori mbi politiken, se politika e vertet, eshte e flliqyr, e korruptuar, e pangopur, e padrejt. Si majtas e djathtas jeni nje turp i madh! Dhe si media, akoma me shume.
