Cyprus has taken over the Presidency of the European Union for 2026, which has just begun.
President Bajram Begaj has congratulated Cyprus on assuming the Presidency of the EU. He expressed that Albania wishes the Cypriot Presidency of the European Union the greatest successes and achievements for the first half of 2026, at an important moment for Europe and the world.
"Albania wishes the Cypriot Presidency of the European Union the greatest successes and achievements for the first half of 2026, in these very important moments for Europe and the entire world."
"We are convinced that the Cypriot Presidency will be focused on the European integration process of the Western Balkan countries and we hope that Albania will begin closing the first chapters of negotiations for full membership in the European Union," writes President Begaj in X.
