Does "non grata" make Sali Berisha unpopular? State Department reacts

Here is the US State Department's response to journalist Marc Caputo's post...

Even though he paid 6 million dollars, Sali Berisha was content with a post on "X" regarding the fate of his "non-wife".

The media close to him suddenly reported that journalist Marc Caputo had approached the State Department with a question about whether Berisha could travel to the US and they had stated: " We regularly grant exemptions to facilitate the travel of certain individuals to the US in accordance with international obligations and our national interests. As such, we will not allow our foreign policy interests or the relationship with Albania to be held hostage by the politicized decisions of the Biden era ."

This statement was interpreted as an undoing of Sali Berisha's "non grata". The democratic leader himself came out and thanked the State Department, while people close to him did the same. But has he been removed from Berisha's "non grata"? There has been much debate in the country, but who better than the State Department itself can speak on this issue?

" Pamphlet " addressed a request to the State Department. Based on the reaction of journalist Marc Caputo, we asked the press office whether or not the "non grata" status of Sali Berisha has been lifted. Their response was: " The State Department has no new information to provide at this time on this designation ."

So, the US State Department does not confirm, deny, or comment on any exemption from the sanctions or change in his status. In short, as long as there is no change from the US State Department, Berisha continues to be "non grata."

So even though Berisha paid $6 million, the sanction is still in effect. It is still on the DASH website and what the journalist is talking about is something else. He is talking about exceptional visa cases and not about lifting the sanction as DP officials call it. /Pamphlet
