PL has been left out of the organization for the February 20 protest....
Gazment Bardhi's rapprochement with Sali Berisha seems to have created a big dividing wall with the Freedom Party. Meta has been critical of Bardhi's group and has had no problem saying so. But this meeting seems to have put Meta out of the game as far as having a united opposition is concerned.
PL has remained outside the organization for the February 20 protest. Until yesterday, Meta met with Berisha before every protest, but the Doctor's supporters have not had any official meeting with the head of the PL or deputies of this force.
Ilir Meta himself spoke today about both the DP merger and the protest. The latter was asked directly if he will be on the square on February 20, but did not give an answer. He said that PL supports the protest, but left open the possibility that it may not be part of it.
" The Freedom Party has been and will always be in support of all civil and political protests, in defense of democracy, in defense of political pluralism, which seek to give a voice to all Albanians who are suffering the consequences of this narco-dictatorship" , said Meta.
He also stopped at Bardhi's union with Berisha. Meta certainly supported any DP merger, but was careful to specify that it must be a sincere merger. Does the head of PL have doubts?
" I think that any sincere union of forces, energies, dormant potentials until now is definitely very positive, because we are not in a normal situation. We are practically in a narco-dictatorship and there must be a clear demarcation line with the narco-dictatorship. So every difference, every difference, must be put aside in order to achieve a synergy and a cohesion as inclusive as possible, not only within the opposition, but within the whole society, which is suffering from this narco-dictatorship, whose decisions have bring this catastrophic balance of the depopulation of the country, the increase in poverty and the galloping explosion of corruption and obviously, the frightening increase in prices and inflation ," he said.
It remains to be seen what Meta will do on February 20, as it will be seen there if we have the big crack. A few days ago, Meta gave the signal that he does not support Berisha as prime minister. He spoke of a universally accepted name. / Pamphlet
