The former prime minister, Sali Berisha, spoke about Rama's visit to Athens. Berisha said that this action of Rama is a flagrant interference in the electoral campaign.
He emphasized that Rama is the greatest enemy of the diaspora and the Albanian nation.
"Secondly, I said once again that I would not deal with the meeting with the diaspora, the inextinguishable longing of the Albanians for it, but I have no way of not dealing when this meeting takes place at an electoral moment and constitutes a flagrant interference in the electoral campaign of a country which, regardless of who has been in power, has increased the standards of treatment of Albanian immigration in that country in the most progressive way. Only a foolish man, only a man who finds no other interest than his own, sets out on such a visit.
To those Albanians, they will forgive me, but at least from the mind, who take this as a favor that Edi Rama is doing to Greece with the meeting, I say that they have time left with Enver Hoxha.
That during these 30 years, maybe around 1 million Albanians have found shelter, found work, built families in the neighboring country. My friends, there are other reasons too. The last person who could imagine meeting the diaspora is the enemy of the diaspora and the Albanian nation, Edi Rama", said Berisha.
