Ahmetaj's accusations, Bylykbashi: The Prime Minister drinks wine worth 33

DP Vice President Oerd Bylykbashi spoke about the May 11 elections, but also Arben Ahmetaj's accusations.

Focusing on the primaries in the Democratic Party, Bylykbashi underlined that this process will ensure that the most professionally capable people are on the lists of DP candidates.

" The process is challenging, it is not easy. We have done primaries earlier. The process would have been better if it had been done earlier. The DP is in the coalition building phase. It is a coalition list, led by the DP. Many people are inclined to look at the negative side. The SP, on its part, has no democracy within the party. Most citizens want political rotation. The DP will choose the best figures ," he said.

Speaking about the February 8 protest, Bylykbashi stressed that citizens should protest the numerous abuses of those in power. He said that Albanians have a prime minister in power who takes expensive charter trips, paid for with Albanian taxes.

" The caretaker government was requested and supported by the international community. The February 8 protest is about everything we have been protesting for all these years. Cosa Nostra fell from the testimony of a repentant justice official. If we have a prime minister who drinks 33 thousand euros worth of wine and spends millions of euros on airplanes, we have an anomaly here. The government officials are connected to criminals ," Bylykbashi said on "News 24".

Further, Bylykbashi assessed the diaspora vote as extremely important, saying that Albanians living abroad will make a difference in these elections.

" There are 120,000 to 140,000 Albanians abroad who do not have documents. They are Albanian citizens who have usually fled far away. Those with the documents they have (of the country where they live) enter Albania without a problem. The vote of the diaspora will make a difference in these elections ," declared Bylykbashi.
