Prime Minister Rama has responded to citizens' comments. In a Facebook conversation, he responded to a commenter who told him that he "travels by private plane, while the state does not have planes to put out fires."
Rama responded by saying that he travels on state planes only for official business trips, while on any private trips he uses economy class. He added that he has not purchased any planes for himself.
"If we had our own planes it would be better, but whoever does the math needs to go back to the math a bit to understand that planes are not just a word of mouth. Some fools have even eaten the big blunder that the government and I have bought planes for ourselves. There is no plane purchased for ourselves. The much-talked-about plane is used by me only for official trips because on every other private trip I take airliners and I am regularly with my family in economy, always.
This is proven by all the declared and verifiable tickets. The plane used for official trips has not cost and does not cost the Albanian state more than the sum of the average expenses incurred each year by the Prime Minister of Albania, including, with your honor, my predecessor , "said Rama.
