Prime Minister Edi Rama, during his speech to Tirana municipality employees in Skanderbeg Square, spoke about the time he demolished the buildings in Lana and the accusations of corruption.
As for the accusations of corruption for building permits, he said that there is no son of a bitch and no mother who would come out and tell him that he took money from them.
" It doesn't occur to them that there could be people who don't receive money for building permits but still ask businesses for trees for building permits. Those buildings that were demolished in Lana back then, do you know how they were demolished and how a quantity of rubble that amounted to 138 thousand tons of concrete was cleared?"
They were ruined by corruption! I did the corruption. I called the builders to the office and told them 'you gave me a million lek for the building permit, they said no, no, no... but you know how stupid I am that you get a permit and don't give anything? Then I told them it's time to pay the bribe to the citizens of Tirana', I divided the Lana segment between them and told them 'take your bulldozers, your oil and go demolish it because otherwise you won't get a building permit'.
And in the logical line of a series of intensive investigations, I am ready to surrender to justice! I have done this many times, but those who yesterday looked at percentages for building permits in every new building and when I told them that there is no son of a bitch and mother who can come out and tell me that he took money from me, they brought out a man who has apologized to me 34 times and I have forgiven him 38 times but he continues to apologize…” , said Rama.
