Former President of the Court of Cassation, Zef Brozi, has spoken about the delay in the preliminary hearing of the Partizani affair, Sali Berisha's $6 million lobbying in the US, and the May 11 parliamentary elections.
Brozi describes the 6-month delay in the "Partizani" affair as a scandal of justice. He also says that the GJKKO is playing a political game.
"The GJKKO is playing a political game, a scandal in justice. This court has been dragging out the case for 7 months. This should be an alarm. Do these judges and lawyers think that Albanian taxpayers are paying billions of dollars from judicial delays? Albanian judges need to take an economic lesson, about judicial economy. I appeal to the next assembly to adopt a law that foresees criminal and civil punishment for judges, lawyers, prosecutors who drag out trials.
"It is becoming a common thing in Albanian justice. Put an end to it, you are destroying the judicial rights of citizens who wait for years to receive judicial decisions. The GJKKO and the courts in Albania should come to their senses, but the parliament should also make a clear law. As far as I know for the preliminary trial, the maximum deadline is 30 days, if it is true, the special bodies for the discipline of judges should meet today to investigate and verify and give the final sentence," Brozi told "Report TV".
Regarding judges who delay hearings, Brozi says that measures should be taken and their licenses should be revoked for several years, according to international practices.
"Lawyers are playing with judges. The court should also have the authority to stop these lawyers who abuse public service, ban them from appearing in court. Revoking their licenses for several years is international practice. Why are we becoming marketers and saboteurs of judicial cases in Albania?"
"Just because the justice system has been renewed does not mean that there are no shortcomings, there may be judges who want to sabotage the reform, who like to be corrupted. Let's not assume that the reform was carried out and everything is perfect. The fact that there has been a 6-month, even two-month delay, shows that something is alarming here," he emphasizes.
As for the DP lobbying, Brozi states that the amount of 6 million dollars proves the billions of crime and corruption of the Berisha clan. Regarding the latter, he emphasizes that there is no chance of removing the women's name, while calling on SPAK and the FBI to investigate the source of the money.
"Even the most remote villager understands that 6 million dollars is Berisha's lobbying. Another fact that proves that the billions invested through corruption and crime of the Berisha clan are not exhausted. They are ready to pay 600 billion dollars to remove women's names. It seems to me that this is an inappropriate expenditure by the DP, they will never achieve that goal. Removing women's names is not done through lobbying, and since they have failed from the beginning. I was also impressed by the humor, the mockery of LaCivita, he mocked, he insulted all of us Albanians. Only Albanians who do not want to understand who Berisha is believe him. I call on SPAK and the FBI to trace the money. It should be proven where it is coming from, " he said.
