SPAK arrests, Ndreu like Rama: I am happy, I knew we would have our

The Mayor of Lezha, Pjerin Ndreu, has commented on the recent political developments regarding the activity of SPAK and the arrests of officials. He emphasized that this is a positive sign of the functioning of the new justice system, even when it affects representatives of the Socialist Party.

"Before SPAK was created, I said that we would also have our martyrs. SPAK could not act like in Saliu's time, when it would call prosecutors and attack the prosecutor in the media. We brought the day when ordinary citizens and high-ranking officials can go there equally. We are counted by how many have gone there, but three leaders of Great Albania are there. We should be happy that SPAK has come to us and has given us water too ," he told "News 24".

Ndreu said that today ordinary citizens and high-ranking officials appear equally before justice, adding with irony: "They count how many of us have left, but there are also the three leaders of 'Great Albania'. We should be happy that SPAK has come to us and brought us water too."

Ndreu also commented on the criminal complaint filed by the Democratic Party against him for the construction of a sidewalk in Shëngjin, describing the case as unjustified.

"It was for a sidewalk that served the community. There were many killed and injured, the people and the road were in the same place. It was said why we did not get the opinion from the ARA, but the ARA does not recognize the sidewalk in the concessionaire's contracts," continued the mayor of Lezha.

He added that there was neither economic harm nor abuse in the relevant tender.

"It is not my job to tell the director of Urban Planning what to do, because I am not an engineer. In the end, it was verified and concluded that the claim is unfounded," concluded Ndreu.
