The deputy of the Democratic Party, Ervin Salianji, has stated that the decision to isolate the former prime minister Sali Berisha is a depressing day not only for the democrats but a dark event for Albania.
According to Salianji, the case of Berisha shows the typical case that not only does not have equality before the law but because of his political function he is being treated as politically persecuted because of his commitment and his attitude and the measures taken against him
"A depressing day not only for the democrats but a dark event for Albania is the leader of the opposition at home.
There should be equality before the law, that impunity should not be the rule in this country, but we should have punishment from the strongest, but I see that the production of statistics has turned into a goal in itself and not the production of justice, unfortunately.
If you look at the case of the leader of the opposition, Sali Berisha, we are in a typical case where not only is there no equality before the law, but because of his political function, he is being treated as politically persecuted because of his commitment and his attitude, and the measures that is taken against him, it is not only heavy and it certifies even more the dictatorship in this country and if you see all the other precedents of justice, we have not seen these measures.
Today in Albania, since the establishment of a structure that we have encouraged and encourage, but we do not have any senior official arrested on duty, zero. All cases of arrests of high SP officials were made after they were issued by Edi Rama. We still don't have a senior official arrested on duty today", said Salianji on "Syri TV".
